What is MyCheck?
MyCheck is a confidential online STI testing service and is the easiest way for eligible clients to access STI testing.
You can arrange your test without needing to attend a sexual health clinic in person, making testing quick, convenient and discreet.

Who is MyCheck for?
MyCheck is for people who may find it harder to access regular sexual health testing. This includes:
- LGBTQI+ people, including gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men, who do not have Medicare
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Sex workers
- People who inject drugs
- People living with HIV who want to test for STIs and Syphilis. Please note that MyCheck isn’t suitable for HIV monitoring blood tests.
Can I use MyCheck?
You can use MyCheck if you:
- Belong to one or more of the above groups
- Are an existing client of the SESLHD Sexual Health Service (The Albion Centre, Short Street Centre or Sydney Sexual Health Centre)
- Can speak and understand English
- Do not have any symptoms
- Have not been exposed to HIV or syphilis since your last test
What if I’m not an existing client?
If you do not have Medicare and have never visited SESLHD Sexual Health Service before, please contact NSW Sexual Health Info Link (SHIL) on 1800 451 624 or visit their website. SHIL can talk through your options and help connect you with the sexual health service most appropriate for you.
I have Medicare. Can I use MyCheck?
MyCheck is mainly for people who may have difficulty accessing sexual health care.
If you have Medicare, you will generally not be eligible for MyCheck unless you belong to one of the groups listed above.
This is because most people with Medicare can access sexual health testing through a GP, either in person or by telehealth.
If you have Medicare and would prefer a telehealth option, there are many online sexual health services available. Many offer bulk-billed appointments, which means there is no cost to you.
You can find a suitable service through the Sexual Health Check Accredited Services directory. These services provide telehealth consultations, STI testing, and PrEP prescriptions.
