COUNSELLING FOR TESTING

People testing for HIV and/or sexually transmissible infections may wish to access counselling services to deal with issues relating to testing and/or risk reduction.

This may include issues such as:

  • Anxiety or depression while waiting for test results
  • Discussion on reducing risk
  • Examining and resolving issues that lead to risk taking behaviour
  • Sexuality issues
  • Drug and alcohol use
  • Dealing with a positive test result

PEP (Post Exposure Prophylaxis)

All clients who receive PEP at Albion will be encouraged to see a psychologist to assist with any issues that arise from taking PEP and also to assist with reducing risk-taking behaviour in the future.
