Albion Centre Library

The Albion Centre library has over 15 years experience in collecting, organising and accessing information on HIV and has one of the most comprehensive collections of material in Australia. The library is the NSW State Reference Centre for HIV information and is also a UNAIDS Information Support Centre, specialising in the medical, psychological, nutritional and treatment aspects of HIV.

By collecting, organising and disseminating HIV information from around the world, and enabling access to this information through print and electronic formats the library supports the Centre’s aims of:

  • Providing optimal and comprehensive treatment, education and prevention services for persons affected by HIV
  • Being responsive to the needs of the general community and the changing focus of the epidemic

    • HealthSTAR – focuses on both clinical and non-clinical aspects of health care delivery. Looks at health services, technology, administration and research
    • Micromedex – clinical decision support system, providing comprehensive drug, acute care and toxicological information
    • MIMS online – Australia’s most comprehensive and authoritative pharmaceutical database
    • Ovid Core Biomedical Collection – full-text access to 15 core biomedical journals
    • Ovid Nursing Collection – full-text access to 15 core nursing journals.

Access to online databases is through the Ministry of Health’s Clinical Information Access Project (CIAP).
