As the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Capacity Building and Health Care Worker Training in HIV Care, Treatment and Support, Albion International responded to WHO’s request to assist the Hong Kong Health Department with its MSM program. A series of workshops were developed and facilitated by the Albion International to communicate Australia’s experience with providing health promotion for MSM with high HIV transmission risk behaviour. The workshops included clinical and non-government organization staff to build capacity in designing programs for MSM and the promotion of collaboration between government and non-government organizations to reduce the HIV infection rate in MSM.

  • Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) Training of Trainers Workshop (June – July 2004)

Donors: World Health Organization – South East Asia Regional Office (SEARO), and World Health Organization – Western Pacific Regional Office (WPRO)

An eighteen day workshop in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, Thailand which provided training to eighteen health care workers from China, Thailand and India. Part one of the workshop was comprised of a 12 day course in VCT. Part two provided a six day training of trainers in VCT course, to enable the participants who attended to build the capacity of VCT services in their home countries.

  • Development of a Regional Training Package on HIV/AIDS Care and Antiretroviral Therapy (December 2003 – April 2004)

Albion International was engaged by SEARO to review and develop a regional training of trainers’ curriculum, training materials and resources list for HIV care and antiretroviral therapy.

  • HIV/AIDS Care and Antiretroviral Regional Training of Trainers’ Curriculum (January – February 2004)

Albion International developed a regional training of trainers’ curriculum. Training materials and a resources package were developed to be used by SEARO technical units.

  • Regional Training Package on HIV Voluntary Counselling and Testing (2002-2004)

Albion International developed a regional training of trainers’ curriculum, training materials and resource list for HIV voluntary counselling and testing and field tested and finalised the training materials.

Over the two-2 year period the technical advisors from Albion International co-wrote a 17-day training package for a VCT training-of-trainers program and training manuals for participants and trainers to facilitate implementation of VCT training programs within the South East Asia region.
