In conjunction with the FHI 360Care and Treatment Division, Albion International developed a guidance document on HIV and nutrition for FHI 360 technical staff and clinicians at FHI 360 – supported health facilities.

The purpose of this document was to provide a concise, practical guide for technical staff and clinicianswho participate in FHI 360 programs. The guide is evidence-based and provides an overview of the links between food, nutrition, and HIV. Subsequently it provides details on the nutritional needs of specific groups and summarizes commonly used food and nutrition interventions. Finally it provides an overview of FHI 360 case studies. All of the information presented in this document is targeted to resource limited settings.

As part of the ‘HIV, Nutrition, and Food; A Practical Guide for FHI 360-Supported Technical Staff and Clinicians’, Albion International wrote the ‘Guidance for Operationalizing the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Policy Using Funds to Address Food and Nutrition Needs’. This document is a tool for FHI 360 country office staff who implement HIV projects, to clarify policy and ensure compliance with the PEPFAR policy guidance.
